Asahiyaki Shorokai Tea Ceremony, November 09






Shorokai  tea ceremony will be held on November 09 .

The tea ceremony in November will be a special and important one, marking the 58th edition of this long-standing event.

This tea ceremony follows the chaji (formal tea ceremony) style.
Two kinds of tea will be served, along with a meal and sake.
The event lasts approximately three hours and is intended for participants with prior experience in tea ceremony.
Complete beginners are not eligible to apply.

Reservations are required if you are joining us for the tea ceremony on November 09. Please let us know if you would like to attend using the contact.

Duration: Approximately 3 hours


Seating Schedule
First Session: 9:00 AM – Koicha & Usucha → Meal (tenshin)
Second Session: 11:00 AM – Koicha & Usucha → Meal (tenshin)
Third Session: 1:20 PM – Koicha & Usucha → Meal (tenshin)
Fourth Session: 1:50 PM – Meal (tenshin) → Koicha & Usucha
※ Reception opens 20 minutes prior to each session.

Tea Rooms
Koicha (Thick Tea) — Master Socho Yonezawa (Urasenke)
Usucha (Thin Tea) — Nichigetsu, Shokoan, and Asahiyaki (Toshiyuki Matsubayashi )
Meal (Tenshin) — Prepared by Sanyukyo 三友居

Participation Fee: ¥18,000
※ Please note that the fee has been revised this year due to various circumstances.

The tetsue experience is optional. Please indicate your interest when applying.

  • 1st Session: Tea 9:00– / Tetsue 12:00–12:40




  • 2nd Session: Tea 11:00– / Tetsue 14:00–14:40




  • 3rd Session: Tea 11:20– / Tetsue 16:20–17:00




  • 4th Session: Tetsue 13:00–13:40 / Tea 13:50–




※ For Sessions 1–3, the tetsue follows the meal.
※ For Session 4, the tetsue precedes the tea gathering—please check your meeting time carefully.


This year, we are delighted to host the tetsue experience within Kosho-ji Temple, the same venue as the tea gathering.
We are also introducing a special, Shorokai-exclusive futaoki design, available only for this occasion.
