"ASAHIYAKI 423 at Koshoji" Archive Book
In 2023, ASAHIYAKI held “ASAHIYAKI423 at Koshoji,” an exhibition of successive generations of ASAHIYAKI works. After a year of work, an archive book of this exhibition has been completed.

ASAHIYAKI was established in Uji in the 1600s and has been handed down from one generation to the next. This exhibition brought together the successive generations of ASAHIYAKI works that have been passed down through the Matsubayashi family for 423 years. The venue was Koshoji Temple, the first Zen temple founded by Zen master Dogen. In addition, a VR work introduced the history of ASAHIYAKI over a period of about 400 years to give visitors a deeper understanding of the history of ASAHIYAKI and its passion for creating artistic works. This archive book allows visitors to relive the charm of the exhibition.
