It was not long after I inherited the generation that I created a larger work with a close feeling with making tea bowl. We classify this work as a vase because of putting flowers, however rather than making it as a flower vase in mind, it is the result of enlarging the shape I want to make using the technique of the spatula, which has become my own in the process of making the tea bowl.
While shaping with a potter's wheel and the clay is still soft, I change the shape by hand from two sides. When it becomes drying, put a spatula on the mouth and body. To make the best appearance of its shape, white makeup is applied on the outside and black glaze is applied on the inside. On the outside, which looks pure white, the ash of the pine kindling jumps during firing in the kiln, creating a landscape.
