Mizusashi “Water container” Geppaku , Hosai XVI

十六世豊斎作

Combination of symbolic style as 16th Hosai Geppaku glaze and faced technique.
Even with the same technique, the balance between the tea bowl and the fresh-water container is inevitably different, so it took a while until I was satisfied with this the water container. Gradually, I happened to find my own balance, and I began to make a convincing water container. But it is still rare to find a work that works well with the technique of pouring glaza, the glaze expression in the kiln and the condition of scarlet. However, when well harmonious, it becomes a water container with a modernity like no other.
The vividness of the moon white glaze. Like a glaze scattered like water droplets between the flowing glazes. A gentle and elegant scarlet color that is not too strong. In this work, my will and chance are in harmony. Normally, the lid of this style is made with clay, but this time I made it a painted lid. The painted black lid further enhances the blue glaza.
