Special pottery workshop " Create a Chawan " October, 12

A special hands-on event held on the same day as Asahiyaki’s monthly tea ceremony (Tsukigama).

On this day, you can enjoy a truly unique experience — creating your own replica of a famous tea bowl.
Not only will you make a bowl, but you’ll also learn about the history and aesthetics of chatō (tea ceramics) through a short lecture.

This time, participants will create a Setoguro tea bowl, known for its deep, lustrous black surface.
Its charm lies in the countless herame (spatula marks) circling the outer wall and its unrefined, spontaneous foot.
The distinctive yuzu-hada (citron-skin texture) adds to its appeal.
