Tea bowl with the expression of "red deer spine" that is typical of Asahiyaki, made of Red clay which is excavated and selected from Shirakawa and Oriiyama in Uji. It features a dark gray and red complex gradation. Spots like the back of deer are also one of appreciate point.
The pottery clay mined at the time of the 14th Hosai is aged and used for over 50 years.
The more you use this chawan, the charm of its taste increase, and the more you can enjoy the change.
