Matsubayashi Hosai: Asahiyaki the fifteenth generation. Kyoto Traditional Ceramic Artist Association Member (Director) / Chairman of the Kyoto Ceramic Society. Born in April 1945 as the eldest son of Asahiyaki 14th Hosai.
Graduated from the Department of Basic Design, Musashino Art University in March 1974. Until 1975, studied potter's wheel at Kyoto Prefectural Ceramics Training School. Until 1976, glaze and other training at the Nagoya Industrial Testing Institute. After that, studied at the 14th generation pottery.
