At Asahiyaki, we produce a set of small plates each year featuring the zodiac animal, expressed through a combination of its ancient pictographic character and an accompanying illustration.
This year’s annual plate bears the character for the zodiac sign “Horse,” along with stamped motifs inspired by the moon and the sun.
Each year, while keeping the overall design consistent, we change the floral-stamp patterns to create a new expression within the series.
